The non-green leaves of these companions help to cool down the intense flower color of Dianthus 'Firewitch' and provide beautiful contrasting foliage when the flowers are gone. More xeric than many Dianthus, 'Firewitch' likes a lean, well drained soil with plenty of sunshine. Deadhead after flowering in early to mid summer.
